待翻譯:TaskSense: Focusing on What Matters in World Models

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06544v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: World models for visual control typically learn compact latent states by reconstructing observations, implicitly encouraging representations to preserve information across the entire visual input. However, task-relevant content often occupies only a small fraction of the observation, while background clutter and distractors consume valuable representational capacity. This mismatch between visual reconstruction and control objectives biases latent representations to model task-irrelevant visual content, diluting learning signals for control-relevant features and severely degrading downstream performance under visual distractions. We introduce TaskSense, a task-centric world modeling framework that enforces task relevance before latent encoding through a differentiable stochastic spatial attention mechanism conditioned on the previous latent state. To steer attention toward control-relevant regions, we augment training with an auxiliary inverse-dynamics objective. Rather than reconstructing the full observation, the world model reconstructs only the attended regions, encouraging latent representations to preserve task-relevant information while discarding irrelevant visual content. The decoder is further conditioned on the sampled attention map, enabling consistent reconstruction despite stochastic attention. Compared with the DreamerV3 baseline, TaskSense maintains competitive performance on the DeepMind Control Suite while consistently outperforming DreamerV3 on the Distracting Control Suite, demonstrating substantially improved robustness to visual distractions. Qualitative analysis further confirms that the learned attention, guided by inverse-dynamics supervision, consistently localizes control-relevant regions while suppressing irrelevant visual content.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06530v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Planning a degree from official university sources requires solving two problems in order. The institution's curriculum must first be reconstructed from catalogs, departmental pages, JSON endpoints, and PDFs that share no schema, and only then can a student-specific path be optimized under prerequisite logic and overlapping requirement constraints. Coupling the two lets each failure mode hide the other, because a planner that drives its own crawling never learns facts its current plan does not need. We present KnowPlan, which enforces an extraction-first boundary and measures the interface between the stages rather than assuming it. CatalogBrowse explores with no access to any user profile. It scores legal actions by lower-confidence expected marginal gain over a finite set of atomic catalog obligations per unit of source access, parses deterministically through platform adapters with a span-constrained clause-to-AST model fallback, and terminates on a closure certificate over index, schema, provenance, and reference completeness instead of a reward threshold. Its output contract is three provenance-linked JSON documents. DegreeMap consumes only those documents. It compiles them into a typed requirement hypergraph and optimizes lexicographically with CP-SAT over hard feasibility, completion horizon, load and risk, personalized utility, and option value, so that each stage optimizes inside the previous stage's proven optimum and stays certifiable within the solver budget. Across a 100-university broad track and a six-school dense track, CatalogBrowse reaches 96.2% inventory recall and 88.7% masked-source recovery at 47% less source access than an exhaustive crawler, DegreeMap holds 100.0% hard feasibility while improving personalized utility by +0.066 over the strongest baseline, and the full pipeline certifies 99.5% of requests with a utility gap to the privileged gold graph of 0.015.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06501v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Creative capabilities of MLLMs matter in design, communication, education, and human--AI collaboration, yet remain difficult to evaluate because explicit targets and reward signals are scarce compared with accuracy-oriented tasks. Cross-concept understanding is a core cognitive capacity underlying receptive creativity. It enables a perceiver to recover intended meaning from non-obvious but meaningful conceptual relations. We operationalize item construction as cross-concept encoding and model inference as cross-concept decoding. We introduce C4, a cognition-inspired evaluation framework for Chengyu (Chinese idiom)-based Cross-Concept Creativity. Its encoding component maps target slots to imageable substitute concepts along bridge paths in a manually annotated and third-party-reviewed cross-concept network, enabling batch generation with explicit structure, difficulty indexed by bridge count and depth, and exact answers. Using this framework, we instantiate the C4 Evaluation Set (C4-Eval), comprising 184 synthetic items and 37 human-created cross-concept chengyu figures collected from online sources. We manually construct and review cross-concept relations, bridge paths, and reasoning processes for the collected figures. Each C4-Eval item is instantiated in five task settings, yielding 884 primary answer-recovery cases. Across ten evaluated MLLMs, the strongest closed models reach 50.7% and 48.0% primary accuracy, while open-source models remain substantially lower. Candidate constraints improve accuracy sharply, but bridge hints and explanation requests provide only modest gains. These results expose a substantial gap in how current MLLMs decode creatively encoded meaning through cross-concept relations. The code is in the supplementary material.

待翻譯:WebGrader: Training LLMs for Web Development with Self-Evolving Programmatic Grader

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06474v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Large language models increasingly generate complete websites from natural-language descriptions, and reinforcement learning has become a central approach to closing their remaining functional gap. This training regime is bottlenecked by reward design. Hand-authored browser scripts are executable yet costly to write for open-ended requirements, while VLM and GUI-agent graders scale but may issue verdicts before observing the decisive state. We propose WebGrader, a self-evolving programmatic grader that autonomously derives the required interaction flows from each website request, represents each flow as an executable Flow Contract, and uses its execution outcome as an RL reward. WebGrader materializes the generated project in a live browser, grounds target actions against the source code and live DOM, and collects visual, DOM, response, and persistent-state evidence along the same browser trajectory. A residual-driven offline loop then discovers reusable verifier skills, screens them on disjoint validation pages, and freezes the promoted skill graph before policy training. By separating test planning, action grounding, evidence collection, and semantic judgment, WebGrader issues a Pass verdict only after observing the requested transition. On WebGen-Bench, WebGrader trains an 8B policy to a 52.01% functional success rate, outperforming a matched appearance-plus-script reward by 7.88 points and surpassing o4-mini and DeepSeek-v4-flash. On WG-core-250, the policy reaches a Full Score of 44.953 and surpasses Qwen3-Coder-480B.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06411v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) achieve strong performance across diverse vision-language tasks, but their efficiency is limited by the cost of processing numerous visual tokens. Visual token pruning can reduce this cost, but requires accurate token importance estimates. Recent studies have demonstrated that text-to-vision attention from middle language model layers can effectively guide visual token pruning, typically using attention from a predefined middle layer to select the visual tokens to retain. Two problems therefore remain. First, our analysis shows that the layer whose attention is most responsive to the question varies substantially across samples, making a fixed layer suboptimal. Second, obtaining attention from the appropriate middle layer requires processing numerous visual tokens through several language model layers, by which point considerable computation has already been spent. To address both problems, we propose Middle-layer Attention Prediction (MAP), which uses Question Contrastive Teacher Selection to identify a sample-specific teacher layer by contrasting attention under the original and reference questions, and distills attention from the selected layer into a lightweight predictor that estimates visual token importance from multi-modal input features. During inference, MAP combines the predicted importance scores with a diversity criterion to prune visual tokens before the first language model layer. Thus, MAP requires no attention maps for pruning and remains compatible with existing inference acceleration techniques. Across ten benchmarks on LLaVA-NeXT-7B, MAP retains 97.5% of the unpruned model performance with only 5.56% of the visual tokens, yielding a 3.09x end-to-end speedup.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06410v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Automated agent design improves agent harnesses through iterative revision, evaluation, and feedback summarization. Existing methods are largely candidate-centric: cross-round experience is organized around candidate agents, which leaves the repair progress implicit. This causes inefficient repair targeting, slow consolidation of partial progress, and propagation of ineffective interventions across rounds. Therefore, we formulate issue-centric agent optimization, in which repair progress is carried forward as an explicit persistent issue state to guide optimization, rather than re-derived from candidate history in each round. We instantiate the formulation in ADIAS, a framework for automated full-code agent design with two mechanisms. A persistent issue state maintains stable issue identities, lifecycle status, supporting evidence, and intervention-outcome histories. Issue-guided optimization uses this state to jointly propose repair targets and revision directions for subsequent focused full-code modification. Across five interactive benchmarks, ADIAS outperforms the strongest baseline by 25.2% on average and achieves consistent gains across four backbone models. Controlled ablations further show that removing persistent issue state or replacing issue-centric revision with candidate-centric policies leads to performance drops of up to 40.7%.

待翻譯:Interpretable Unsupervised Community Detection with LLM-Symbolized Structured Processes

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06402v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Community detection is a fundamental task in graph analytics that aims to identify cohesive groups of entities with similar behaviors or interests. Classic objective-driven methods struggle with complex graph structures, while deep-learning approaches improve performance at the expense of interpretability and rely on labeled data and training. Large language models (LLMs), with strong reasoning capabilities and world knowledge, are promising for interpretable, label-free community detection. To leverage these strengths, we propose LUCID, an LLM-guided, interpretable, training-free, and unsupervised community detection method. Inspired by phase-transition kinetics in natural systems, where complex structures emerge through initialization, merging, refinement, and selection, LUCID is designed as a four-stage pipeline. Within this pipeline, the LLM induces formal rules that translate implicit knowledge into explicit and interpretable logical structures. Specifically, (1) the Local-View Community Initialization stage encodes local graph structures using k-ego contexts and unsupervised node roles; (2) the Multi-factor Community Merge stage uses LLM-induced rules to iteratively merge local communities; (3) the Multi-grain Community Refinement stage applies LLM-induced coarse-to-fine rules in parallel to reduce boundary noise; and (4) the Global-view Community Selection stage identifies high-quality communities based on topological compactness and boundary clarity. Extensive experiments on real-world datasets demonstrate that LUCID, as an unsupervised approach, achieves state-of-the-art performance and consistently outperforms leading unsupervised and semi-supervised baselines.

待翻譯:Beyond Routing Weights: Faithful Response-Level Interpretation of Mixture-of-Experts Reward Models via Contribution Contrast

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06400v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Reward models are central to learning from human preferences, yet identifying what drives their predictions remains challenging. Recent sparse Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) reward models seek to improve interpretability by routing prompts to specialized experts and characterizing experts through examples with high routing weights. However, routing weights only reveal which prompts an expert $\textit{receives}$, not how it $\textit{judges}$ responses, providing only a partial account of expert behavior. We therefore propose $\textbf{Co}$ntribution-$\textbf{Co}$ntrast ($\textbf{CoCo}$) response-level interpretation, which faithfully characterizes experts' roles using chosen-rejected response pairs with the largest contribution contrasts, jointly capturing routing and preference behavior. Across automatic and human evaluations, CoCo yields more coherent, faithful, and specialized interpretations than router-based, score-based, and sparse autoencoder-based alternatives while maintaining competitive reward modeling accuracy. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first systematic study of interpretation methods for MoE reward models.

待翻譯:EntropyMoE: Entropy-Aware Sparse Expert Routing for Tokenizer-Free LLMs

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06398v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Recent byte-level large language models (LLMs) have made tokenizer-free modeling increasingly competitive by grouping bytes into dynamically sized patches. However, existing byte-patch architectures still apply the same dense feed-forward computation to every patch. This uniform computation cannot adapt model capacity to variations in patch semantics and granularity. We address this limitation with EntropyMoE, a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture designed for dynamic byte patches. EntropyMoE replaces the dense feed-forward modules in the global patch Transformer with Top-K expert layers. Each dynamic patch serves as the basic unit of expert routing, and its byte coverage determines its contribution to workload accounting. The router selects experts directly from patch entropy, using the same granularity signal that underlies dynamic patch construction to organize sparse computation. Patch entropy and length jointly define the feature space for regulating expert specialization. Experiments show that EntropyMoE achieves the lowest held-out bits-per-byte among matched dense and sparse baselines while maintaining comparable downstream accuracy. These results establish patch entropy as an effective routing coordinate for sparse conditional computation and extend Mixture-of-Experts modeling beyond tokenizer-based representations.

待翻譯:Towards Multi-Label Graph Foundation Models: from Single-Vector Representation Learning to Multi-Semantic Basis Learning

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.06394v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Multi-label node classification is an important yet challenging task in graph learning, where nodes exhibit multiple semantics simultaneously. Existing methods for multi-label node classification can effectively model multiple labels, while only considering in-domain scenarios where the model needs to be trained and tested within the same graph domain, resulting in limited cross-domain generalization. Recently, Graph Foundation Models (GFMs) have emerged as a promising paradigm for learning transferable graph representations across diverse graph domains and downstream tasks. However, existing GFMs are built upon single-label assumption, where all nodes are arbitrarily regarded as containing only one class of semantic and embedded into a single representation. For multi-label nodes, such a representation essentially approximates multiple semantics with a single point in the representation space, inevitably leading to semantic entanglement and making simultaneous discrimination of multiple labels difficult. To address these limitations, we propose a Multi-Semantic Basis Graph Foundation Model (MSB-GFM), a framework for cross-domain multi-label node classification. Specifically, we introduce a multi-semantic basis representation learning paradigm that models each multi-label node as an adaptive composition of semantic bases, thereby enabling flexible representational capacity for modeling multiple semantics. Furthermore, we develop a semantic-structure dual-channel architecture with domain adversarial training for effective cross-domain knowledge transfer. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our model.

待翻譯:When Privileged Guidance Misaligns: State-Matched Routing and Contextualized Self-Distillation for Multi-Turn Agents

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.05219v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Privileged on-policy distillation provides dense supervision for multi-turn agents by allowing a synchronized teacher to re-score the student's response at every turn with access to training-only references, such as successful trajectories. In interactive environments, however, the student's preceding actions continually change the execution state. As the student takes different actions or completes subgoals in a different order, its rollout may reach states not covered by the reference, making the reference an unreliable source of guidance for the state actually reached. Applying privileged distillation indiscriminately therefore creates state--reference mismatch. This mismatch motivates a central objective: providing privileged reference guidance that remains compatible with the student's current execution state. We introduce State-Matched Routing and Contextualized Self-Distillation (SMRC-SD), which explicitly determines when and how a privileged trajectory should guide an on-policy student. At each turn, SMRC-SD verifies whether the student's current execution state matches a supported state along the reference trajectory. Distillation is applied only at matched states, filtering out turns for which the reference lacks locally compatible guidance. For each matched state, SMRC-SD further constructs state-conditioned teacher context from the successful trajectory, grounding supervision in the state actually reached. Across ALFWorld and WebShop, SMRC-SD consistently outperforms unconditional successful full-path distillation. With Qwen3-1.7B, it improves task success from $0.746$ to $0.865$ on ALFWorld and from $0.574$ to $0.693$ on WebShop. Controlled routing and context ablations support both selecting locally supported turns and constructing state-compatible teacher context as contributors to these gains. AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.05218v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) enables fast, photorealistic talking-head rendering, yet accurate lip articulation remains elusive: mouth motion is often over-smoothed and may violate hard articulatory constraints such as bilabial closures, producing the notorious ``leaky mouth'' artifact. A key difficulty is that brief, discrete articulatory events are inferred from a continuous acoustic embedding under a regression objective, which biases predictions toward averaged mouth configurations. While modern self-supervised speech encoders provide rich prosodic and phonetic cues, they do not provide an explicit, frame-aligned linguistic target that reliably disambiguates closure-level events. We propose \textbf{Phoneme-Driven Gaussian Splatting (PD-GS)}, which augments a 3DGS talker with time-aligned phoneme tokens obtained from an automatic ASR and forced-alignment pipeline. Our core component, the \textbf{Linguistic Fusion Module (LFM)}, adaptively fuses continuous audio context with discrete phoneme embeddings through a learned gate, allowing the model to preserve smooth audio-driven dynamics while strengthening phoneme guidance on articulation-critical segments. PD-GS is trained purely from monocular video using image reconstruction and lip landmark supervision. On HDTF, PD-GS achieves the best lip geometry among the compared baselines (LMD 2.66) and qualitatively reduces closure violations in challenging phoneme sequences, yielding more linguistically faithful neural avatars.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.05212v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Deep search agents tackle challenging questions through long-horizon web interactions, a process that is both complex and fragile: small reasoning errors may propagate through long, noisy trajectories into fluent but incorrect answers. Diagnosing such failures is difficult, requiring the manual inspection of extremely long execution traces, which could be beyond human capacity. We therefore introduce SearchAuditBench, a benchmark that evaluates whether LLM auditors can localize, attribute, and repair these failures, thereby reducing the human burden. SearchAuditBench comprises 1,243 failed trajectories, averaging 73.1 messages and 65.1K tokens, collected from eight open-weight models on five deep-search benchmarks, each expert-annotated with the critical error step, a search-specific root cause, and a reference repair with grading rubrics. We further propose SearchAuditor, a multi-perspective auditing framework that effectively localizes, attributes, and repairs search-agent failures through evidence-grounded adjudication. Experimental results show that even the strongest baseline, when powered by a frontier model like GPT-5.5, attains only a 26.6% end-to-end pass rate. In contrast, our SearchAuditor consistently outperforms all baselines across different frontier models, achieving an end-to-end pass rate of 32.3%, and resuming failed runs with its repairs enables agents to better recover from errors.

It combines two conditioning signals: (1) a move history encoder that conditions predictions on the last 20 moves, capturing opening preferences, positional drift, and intra-game behavioral tendencies; and (2) a time control module that modulates predictions based on clock pressure. Otter is trained on 6.1 billion positions from 117 million Lichess rapid games over 30 days on a single T4 GPU. Otter achieves 55.23% top-1 and 90.95% top-5 move-prediction accuracy, surpassing the prior state-of-the-art human chess model, Maia 2, with far fewer parameters and less training data. Across 11 Elo brackets (=2000), accuracy peaks at 57.38% in the 1900-1999 bracket. Nevertheless, existing instance-level causal pairs suffer severe generalization deficits on low-frequency long-tail and unseen event combinations. To address this limitation, this work proposes Abstract Event Causal Rule (AECR), a novel relation-level causal abstraction paradigm that transforms concrete cause-effect pairs into generalized abstract causal logic while retaining their intrinsic causal relationships. We design a multi-agent Concrete-to-Abstract Causal Induction (CACI) system coupled with similarity-constrained clustering to distill trustworthy AECRs from noisy raw causal data, based on which two complete AECR knowledge bases are built. To validate the practical utility of abstract causal knowledge, we propose an Abstract Rule-Guided Causal Attention Encoder (AR-GCAE), which injects the retrieved AECRs into the causality Graph Event Prediction (CGEP) benchmark task via rule-guided attention layers and gated representation fusion. Quantitative experimental results reveal that applying AECRs substantially strengthens the generalization capacity of event causal reasoning and brings consistent performance improvements to event prediction, with the most prominent gains observed on rare and unseen event samples.

As skills become marketplace artifacts, auditing their reuse is no longer the same problem as ordinary code clone detection. Existing detectors target single-modality source code or whole-package similarity, yet skill reuse evidence is distributed across authored text, implementation fragments, and operational structure. As a result, they can miss reuse that preserves only one part of a skill. We present SKILLTRACE, a multi-trace provenance auditing framework for LLM-agent skill reuse. SKILLTRACE extracts three provenance traces: Expression, Implementation, and Operational. It represents the Operational Trace as a Skill Operational Graph (SOG) that captures activation, procedure, and resource-flow structure. An LLM assists only the Operational-trace extraction, once at ingestion; at audit time SKILLTRACE compares cached traces deterministically, calibrates each trace against same-function strict negatives, and reports which trace supports a reuse decision. On SKILLTRACE-BENCH, with 820 transformed reuse positives over 100 marketplace anchors and 751 negative controls, SKILLTRACE achieves AUROC 0.938 and F1 0.898. A 36,446-skill wild audit further shows that trace-attributed evidence surfaces actionable reuse review queues beyond repository-level baselines.

Motivated by a clinician user study calling for clinical guideline-aligned cut-offs, we ask whether continuous predictors can be replaced by clinically informed categorical encodings without sacrificing performance. On a multi-centre European registry stratified into three treatment cohorts, we compare standard and fully categorised gradient-boosted models, the latter using stroke guideline-aligned, treatment-specific thresholds. The fully categorised models are statistically indistinguishable from their continuous counterparts in two of the treatment cohorts, with a significant drop in predictive accuracy in one cohort. Global feature importance rankings remain consistent, suggesting that discretising continuous predictors into guideline-based categories preserves the core hierarchy of prognostic factors across all treatment groups. Guideline-based categorisation is thus a viable design choice for stroke-outcome models.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.05168v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Large language models often fail on reasoning tasks despite possessing the capability to solve them. We argue that many such failures arise from localized reasoning bugs in intermediate steps rather than from global incompetence. We show that these bugs are frequently repairable: inserting a short patch generated by a weak probe model after the same strong-model reasoning prefix can redirect the trajectory toward a correct solution. However, this corrective effect is not reliably internalized by directly fine-tuning on weak patches or repaired trajectories, suggesting that the useful signal lies not in the intervention text itself, but in how it reshapes the model's future reasoning distribution. We therefore propose Woodpecker Distillation, a weak-to-strong training framework that learns from contrastive local interventions. Our method contrasts successful and unsuccessful weak-model patches at the same prefix, constructs a corrective teacher distribution from their induced future token predictions, and distills this signal into the strong model. Experiments on mathematical reasoning benchmarks show that Woodpecker Distillation consistently improves strong-model performance and outperforms direct imitation baselines.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.05160v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We introduce the Ignition Index (I), a validated scalar metric that operationalizes Global Workspace Theory's (GWT) all-or-none ignition prediction in transformer language models. The metric fits a four-parameter sigmoid to per-layer linear probe accuracy as a function of input signal strength, extracting steepness parameter beta-hat: high values indicate abrupt, ignition-like transitions; low values indicate graded build-up. Across 11 models spanning five architecture families, shuffled-label controls demonstrate 9.6-fold selectivity for genuine linguistic structure over spurious probe capacity (p < 0.001, Mann-Whitney U-test). We find: (1) Feedforward transformers exceed SSMs by 89% in aggregate beta-hat (p < 1e-13, Cohen's d = 0.52), with Mamba exhibiting near-linear profiles consistent with absent global broadcast. (2) Huginn-3.5B exhibits 2.12-fold higher ignition along its iteration axis than its depth axis, demonstrating that recurrent architectures manifest workspace-like transitions along the recurrence dimension. (3) Pythia-410M shows a PELT-detected phase transition at training step 256 (+67%), preceding induction-head formation. (4) Hypotheses linking ignition to model scale and signal strength were not confirmed, suggesting transformer architectures may saturate available ignition mechanisms. The Ignition Index provides the first validated quantitative bridge between GWT's dynamical predictions and mechanistic interpretability, with 9.6-fold measurement selectivity and architecture-level discriminability not previously characterized in the scaling literature. Enterprises have invested considerable financial and material resources in building these applications, however, effectively leveraging and orchestrating them remains a formidable challenge. Conventional approaches to enterprise application integration, encompassing middleware architectures such as Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), API gateway infrastructures, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), suffer from inherent limitations like high architectural coupling, escalating operation and maintenance costs, and limited intelligence capabilities. This paper proposes Agentic Nesting, a multi-agent collaboration framework in which existing enterprise applications are encapsulated as autonomous AI agents within a hierarchically nested structure. Rather than flat interconnection, agents are organized into layered stewardship topologies that mirror the compositional complexity of enterprise ecosystems. The framework extracts a digital agent proxy from each legacy application to enable natural-language interaction and autonomous manipulation, coordinates multiple agents through a central orchestrator for task decomposition and dynamic dispatching, and exposes a unified conversational interface for cross-application querying and process orchestration. The main contributions of this paper are the proposition of the "Application-as-Agent" integration paradigm and the "Conversation-as-Integration" interaction philosophy, together with an exploration of the generalization potential of this methodology in scenarios encompassing heterogeneous system coordination, and large-scale data applications.

待翻譯:The RAIL Principles for Neurosymbolic AI: Reasoning, Assurances, Interfacing and Learning

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04285v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Neurosymbolic AI systems that integrate machine learning and symbolic reasoning are rapidly gaining attention. They complement the data-intensive statistical approaches of neural networks and language models with symbolic reasoning algorithms to function in high-stakes domains or in low-data regimes that characterize many real-world applications. We argue that the neurosymbolic combination of machine learning and formal reasoning is not a niche approach within AI, but rather includes many already successful techniques that are of crucial importance to the development of reliable, efficient and, ultimately, trustworthy systems. This perspective prompts a re-examination of the design of current AI systems. We show that many leading AI systems, including some that are not traditionally considered as neurosymbolic, can be analysed from the perspective of four principles of neurosymbolic AI design: Reasoning, Assurances, Interfacing and Learning (RAIL). Applying the RAIL framework offers a unified view of seemingly disparate AI systems, ranging from physics-aware machine learning to neuro-guided search (such as Google DeepMind's Alpha-* suite), causal learning and tool-augmented Large Language Models. Importantly, the RAIL principles will enable engineers to make better-informed and more principled decisions about the design and deployment of production-level AI systems. In this article, we introduce the RAIL principles, examine how they can be applied across major areas of AI, and illustrate how they may guide practitioners to integrate neurosymbolic methods into next-generation AI technologies.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04232v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Biological systems must regulate competing needs under limited perceptual bandwidth, where sharpening one estimate costs the capacity to sharpen the others. Any fixed-budget system therefore has to decide where to allocate its perceptual precision. We study this in a foraging agent that must keep several bodily needs satisfied to survive, modelled with active inference. At each step it reads its own body-state beliefs, identifies the most-needed channel, and reallocates a fixed budget of interoceptive precision toward it, so that the same precision-shaped likelihood feeds both belief update and planning. In AffectWorld, a four-channel foraging gridworld, this selective allocation more than doubles learning-phase survival at matched budget against a uniform-precision agent ($0.414$ vs $0.199$ across 11 layouts, $n{=}32$ seeds each, paired cluster-bootstrap $p \leq 10^{-4}$). Two further results sharpen the mechanism. The benefit runs through planning as well as perception, since denying the shaped likelihood to the planner alone removes about half of it. It is also need-aligned, since aiming precision at the least-needed channel does worse than spreading it evenly. The attended channel additionally learns its own dynamics about twice as fast, and stays ahead even at matched observation count, a behavioural trace of the same precision routing, visible in learning speed, not survival.

待翻譯:MatrAIx: Simulating the World with 8.3 Billion Persona Agents

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04205v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Human evaluation of AI systems and digital products is costly, slow, and difficult to scale. Offline evaluations are more scalable but often abstract away human diversity and interactive behavior. We therefore introduce MatrAIx, a population-scale simulated-user evaluation infrastructure for testing AI systems and digital products with heterogeneous users. MatrAIx has three core components: First, Persona 8B contains 8.3 billion persona records represented by 1,290 categorical dimensions. Records are either sampled from a dependency graph that preserves correlated attributes or derived from human-authored profiles. We release a quality-filtered coreset of approximately 1 million personas, comprising 599,847 human-grounded and 400,000 synthetic records. Second, the MatrAIx Playground provides four environments in which diverse users evaluate and interact with digital products: Survey, AI Chatbot, Web, and App. Third, MatrAIx provides 1,010 application tasks spanning more than 25 domains, including Commerce, Software, Finance, and Healthcare. We conducted 18,189 evaluation trials across eight representative tasks. Persona agents were powered by three LLMs: Claude Opus 4.8, GPT 5.5, and Claude Haiku 4.5. The resulting feedback captures how decisions and preferences vary across persona backgrounds, including hesitation after a price increase, willingness to continue after an AI assistant fails, and latency tolerance. We conducted two main validation studies: First, a 400-trial controlled study evaluated persona adherence across ten behavioral attributes and all four environments. The declared behavior was expressed or correctly suppressed in 366 trials (91.5%). Second, human and LLM judges evaluated the extraction quality of human-grounded personas. Overall, MatrAIx provides an end-to-end infrastructure for evaluating AI systems and digital products with diverse simulated human users.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04190v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Deploying pre-trained perception models in novel environments degrades their accuracy under distributional shift, and assembling them alone does not recover it: combiners such as majority voting trade recall for precision and are brittle to coordinated failures. Prior metacognitive methods learn logical rules that flag a model's errors, but rely on hand-authored domain-knowledge cues (object-size priors, segmentation masks) that do not transfer to genuinely novel scenes. We show that this metacognitive layer can be learned without any domain knowledge by exploiting vector-space geometry: per-model Label Vector Pools (LVP), built from each model's own training embeddings, yield error-detection rules from the geometry of detections relative to training-determined prototypes, reaching parity with domain-knowledge rules to within $0.002$ every F1 on test set. Because the approach remains neurosymbolic, these geometric rules share a single logical framework and can still be complemented by domain knowledge when available. We frame the fusion of multiple imperfect ViT-based detectors as a consistency-based abduction problem solved at test time by an exact Integer Program (IP) and a polynomial-time heuristic. On an aerial-imagery benchmark of 15 weather-shifted test sets and six ViT detectors, our domain-knowledge-free layer matches the strongest majority-vote variant on clean data (within $0.005$ F1) and, unlike every majority-vote baseline, retains its performance under a coordinated label-flipping attack: at a $90\%$ flip rate it averages $0.42$ F1 versus $0.35$ for MV-Plurality (a $22\%$ relative gain) and attains the highest F1 on \emph{every} test set once the flip rate exceeds $0.4$

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04156v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Electroencephalography (EEG) analysis extends beyond assigning predefined labels to recordings; it requires workflows connecting natural-language instructions, signal processing, quantitative evidence, and scientific interpretation. We term this capability \emph{comprehensive EEG understanding}. Existing evaluations, however, primarily target isolated decoding tasks or system-specific demonstrations, leaving the competence of large language models (LLMs) insufficiently quantified. We introduce \benchmarkname{}, a unified benchmark for comprehensive, instruction-conditioned EEG understanding. It comprises four subsets---Foundational Analysis, Sleep Assessment, Neurocognitive Assessment, and Physiological Integration---covering 17 datasets, \numcases{} tasks, and over \numinstances{} real-data instances. Given an instruction and EEG recordings with optional physiological signals, a system must perform the analysis and produce a scientifically grounded report and, when required, artifacts. Outputs are assessed through numerical, categorical, set, sequence, semantic, and artifact validation. We evaluate \nummodels{} representative LLMs across more than 100K executions under two paradigms: autonomous code execution with CodeAct and structured agentic analysis with BrainAgent. Results vary substantially across models, subsets, difficulty levels, and execution paradigms, showing that EEG competence depends on the model and its operationalization. \benchmarkname{} provides a reproducible testbed for advancing LLM-based EEG understanding. The code and benchmark will be released soon, with evaluation results continuously updated.

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04095v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Large language model (LLM) agents are increasingly used as personalized assistants in high-stakes domains such as financial advising, yet it remains unclear whether they can maintain and update an individualized user model over long horizons. Existing personalized-memory benchmarks primarily test factual retention or rely on weakly constrained model-generated trajectories, leaving event-driven preference adaptation underexplored. We introduce FinPerMA, an event-grounded benchmark that evaluates personalized memory against frozen longitudinal investor trajectories. Its generation pipeline combines deterministic, theory-informed impact rules, controlled LLM narration, and automated quality screening; a Post-Shock checkpoint isolates whether an agent has integrated a material event into its persistent user model. On 2,994 questions from 276 personas, seven frontier LLMs and up to seven memory configurations remain far from saturated: no full-context configuration exceeds approximately 0.47 overall accuracy or approximately 39% on multiple-choice questions. Attribution analysis shows that summary-based memory often preserves factual details while losing the preference signals needed for personalization; simple retrieval can therefore outperform purpose-built memory systems, with the gap widening after shocks.

待翻譯:FinProBench: Evaluating Financial AI Agents with Role-Grounded Rubrics Derived from Professional Deliverables

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04077v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Evaluating financial AI agents requires criteria aligned with real professional work. Existing rubric methods typically derive criteria from task prompts or model outputs, overlooking tacit standards visible only in practitioner deliverables. We introduce FinProBench, a benchmark for professional financial tasks, and Role-Grounded Rubric Construction (RGRC), a reusable pipeline that derives rubrics from deliverables produced by practitioners in the same role. RGRC comprises four stages: Deliverable Collection, Competency Extraction, Rubric Synthesis, and Validation. Its rubrics capture tacit standards, distinguish quality levels, and transfer across tasks within a role. Before analysis, we classified 57 occupations by deliverable genre into 30 prior-rich conventional roles and 27 prior-sparse role-specialized roles. Across all roles, Prompt-only nearly matches RGRC for conventional roles (89.2% vs. 90.7%), but RGRC substantially outperforms it for role-specialized roles (99.1% vs. 78.0%). This split indicates that prompt engineering can approximate rubrics when conventions are well represented in model priors, while professional grounding is essential for standards beyond those priors. FinProBench is built from 1,723 curated deliverables spanning 57 occupations, 8 financial sub-industries, and 161 deliverable types, and releases an initial evaluation set of 20 complete tasks covering 20 roles in 7 sub-industries. With heterogeneous LLM judges and role-level rubrics, human deliverables rank first on average (73.7 vs. 70.3, 70.2, and 69.6 out of 100), while all four systems show overlapping 95% confidence intervals and complementary strengths. Reusing rubrics at the role level reduces estimated per-task construction effort by 6.7 times relative to authoring each rubric from scratch.

待翻譯:Monte Carlo Tree Search for Table-to-Multimodal Report Generation

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04071v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Automatically generating professional multimodal reports comprising both textual analysis and visual charts from structured tabular data is a critical challenge in data intelligence. Existing methods suffer from fixed linear pipelines and isolated subtask processing, which hinder joint optimization of factual accuracy, visual quality, and narrative coherence. To address these issues, this paper proposes MCTS-Report, a Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS)-driven framework that formulates multimodal table-to-report generation as a progressive construction process over a structured search space. The core idea is to decompose report generation into atomic actions, including chapter planning, visualization task identification, chart generation, insight organization, and narrative refinement, each executed by an LLM based on dynamic reasoning conditioned on the current report state. We use an LLM to generate step-by-step reasoning and actions during MCTS, storing the reasoning trajectory in each node for context-aware, coherent report construction. To guide the search, we design a multi-dimensional reward function that jointly evaluates numerical fact consistency (via SQL), chart quality, chart-text alignment, and structural completeness, while incorporating a diversity penalty to suppress repeated charts and a precondition check to prune invalid actions. We also construct MMRBench, a comprehensive benchmark comprising real-world tables from six domains, paired with expert-refined reference report structures and verifiable key insights. Experiments on MMRBench demonstrate that MCTS-Report significantly outperforms strong baselines across structural completeness, numerical accuracy, chart-text alignment, and insight novelty, achieving a 77.9 overall score.

待翻譯:The LLM Proposes, the Executive Disposes: A Self-Verifying Agent Instrument that Dissociates Commitment Drift from Binding Drift in Long-Horizon Agents

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04066v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: How do you verify a long-horizon agent when its own state and self-reports are exactly what you cannot trust? We present an agent instrument built so that verification is structural rather than post-hoc. A deterministic Executive owns all belief; a language model may only file typed proposals, and a claim is admitted only when a prediction pre-registered before acting is matched against observation by code. Two properties make the instrument a verifier of its own science, not just of the agent: every run invalidates itself when per-organ write-error, render-size, or salted-canary-echo floors are breached (four of the first eight architecture runs were invalidated, each localizing a real defect); and a render-invisible shadow reference compiles the plan the full system would have committed in every ablation cell, so drift metrics are defined even where the mechanism under test has been removed. Using this instrument we report a clean, single-variable result on a failure every long-horizon agent suffers: ablating the commitment mechanism flips goal-abandonment from 0.00 to 1.00 while binding error stays flat at 0.00 (three seeds per cell, up to 394 reference beats per run, every run gated valid). The binding channel, by contrast, does not reappear as per-beat drift when its repair is ablated -- because binding is code-owned, the failure class is structurally absorbed, its only residue appearing one layer upstream as a collapse in hypothesis formation. We report these under full disclosure that task efficacy is null (zero level completions across 52 gated runs on ARC-AGI-3), pre-registered as a structural defeater. The contribution is a verification methodology for agent development and the drift decomposition it makes measurable.

待翻譯:A Long-Run Persistence Theory for AI Systems under the Redundancy-Adjusted Artificial Age Score (AAS)

AI 服務暫時不可用,以下為來源摘要,待恢復後補全翻譯:arXiv:2608.04012v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Artificial intelligence systems are increasingly expected to operate over repeated cycles of interaction, adaptation, and update rather than through isolated one-shot outputs. This raises a fundamental theoretical question: can an AI system persist indefinitely without incurring unbounded structural aging? This paper develops a long-run persistence framework for AI systems based on the redundancy-adjusted Artificial Age Score (AAS). The model extends AAS from a static evaluative measure into a cycle-level functional that generates an age sequence across repeated operation. At each cycle, structural age is defined through a weighted, redundancy-aware logarithmic penalty over component consistency levels. Within this framework, cycle-level age is shown to be well defined and uniformly bounded, thereby excluding explosive pointwise aging. On this basis, the paper defines a hierarchy of asymptotic regimes, including burdened persistence, zero-burden persistence, oscillatory persistence, and cumulative terminal burden. It also establishes comparative ordering, sensitivity bounds, convergence under componentwise stabilization, persistence under finite total variation, geometric stabilization under damped inter-cycle perturbations, and a zero-burden characterization under nondegenerate redundancy conditions. The main result is that indefinite cyclic continuation does not require unbounded structural aging: an AI system may pass through infinitely many cycles while its structural age remains bounded, while under stronger regularity conditions its marginal aging vanishes and, in the strongest regime, its cycle-level burden converges to zero. The framework thus provides a formal basis for analyzing long-run artificial persistence as a problem of bounded structural burden rather than inevitable cumulative deterioration.
