Over the last year I've basically lived inside Claude Code & Codex. At some point it hit me that I had no real idea how much I was burning across all of them combined, or how that stacked up against anyone else. Token usage is quietly becoming one of the core metrics for developers — it's our cost, our compute, our output — but there was no simple way to just see it.
So I built one. Run npx whoburnedmore and you get a full dashboard of your usage: total tokens, cost, active days, and the exact day you went hardest — pulled across every AI coding tool you use. Then it drops you onto a public leaderboard so you can see who's actually burning the most and go head-to-head with other devs. It keeps updating in the background, so the rankings stay live.
I built it mostly on a whim over about a week. It's completely free and just run the one command.
This project was made possible due to a lot of Open source projects so thanks to those.
Would genuinely love for you to try it and tell me what's missing.
