NAVSEA Contract Awarded to Unstructured for Fleet AI Access
The Naval Sea Systems Command awarded Unstructured a contract to design an AI-enabled solution that helps warfighters surface mission-critical information faster, reduce operator workload, and accelerate decision-making in Anti-Submarine Warfare and surface warfare operations. The solution integrates Unstructured's data ingestion with Elastic's enterprise search to mine heterogeneous data sources, initially deployed on CV-TSC and USW-DSS systems with future applicability to JADC2 and C5ISR.

Unstructured Awarded NAVSEA Contract to Streamline Fleet Decision-Making with AI-Enabled Data Access
San Francisco, CA – The Department of the Navy’s Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has awarded Unstructured a contract to design and demonstrate an AI-enabled solution that helps warfighters surface mission-critical information faster, reduce operator workload, and accelerate decision-making in support of Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and surface warfare operations.
Today’s Fleet operators face a challenge: key environmental and threat data is spread across classified networks, legacy platforms, and manually curated resources. Sailors spend time combing through fragmented sources—such as internal authoritative sources, hardcopy documents, and embedded platform data—to compile essential pre-mission reports and to manage ongoing operations in an agile manner. This burden not only delays operations but introduces error in time-sensitive decision environments.
To address this, Unstructured is teaming with Elastic to develop an innovative architecture that mines and fuses heterogeneous data sources to deliver fast, explainable search results through a user-friendly interface. By combining automated data ingestion, metadata enrichment, and mission-aware enterprise search, the approach enables rapid development of Undersea Warfare plans and improved responsiveness to evolving threat conditions. This modular solution will be designed for interoperability starting with existing platforms like the AN/SQQ-34 Aircraft Carrier Tactical Support System (CV-TSC) followed by the AN/UYQ-100 Undersea Warfare Decision Support System (USW-DSS).
“Sailors deserve intuitive access to the full depth of operational and environmental data—without wasting hours hunting across fragmented systems,” said Brian Raymond, CEO of Unstructured. “Together with Elastic, we’re proud to support NAVSEA’s vision for trusted, actionable intelligence at the speed of mission.”
The combined solution draws on Unstructured’s proven expertise in large-scale data ingestion and preparation and Elastic’s battle-tested enterprise search capabilities, already widely deployed across defense and intelligence environments. The contract represents a critical step toward operationalizing machine learning for real-time, mission-aligned decision support—starting with CV-TSC and USW-DSS, and with future applicability across Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), and other maritime command-and-control systems.
