People are switching from OpenAI to Claude following Sam Altman's announcement today.

TL;DR: Anthropic refused to sign a contract with the Pentagon that would have allowed the U.S. military to use all of its models without restrictions. Anthropic insisted on an exception, and brace yourself, that its models cannot be used: 1) for mass surveillance of citizens, 2) for autonomous killing. Now the administration is threatening that if the founder of Anthropic doesn't change his mind by a certain date, they will come after him.

Google, OpenAI, and Musk (Grok) have all signed the contract.

Following Sam Altman's announcement over the past few hours, people have been speaking out massively about cancelling their OpenAI subscriptions and subscribing to Claude.

What's the best AI model for coding?

New AI models pop up every week. Some developer tools like @Cursor, @Zed, and @Kilo Code let you choose between different models, while more opinionated products like @Amp and @Tonkotsu default to 1 model.

Curious what the community recommends for coding tasks? Any preferences?

Anthropic raises $65B in Series H funding at $965B post-money valuation

That's a lot of AGI, with some substantial firepower:

Anthropic has raised $65 billion in Series H funding led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, valuing the company at $965 billion post-money.

From Coatue, who lead the round:

...what s changed since three months ago (the last round was only three months ago, believe it or not)?

Three things:

We ve seen the shift from co-pilots that help make us more efficient to agents actually doing long-form work tasks on our behalf. This has meant an explosion in both productivity and ROI for customers.

Anthropic introduced Mythos Preview, a whole new model class that demonstrates a step change in intelligence level as seen in the METR chart below. It not only shows dramatic improvement to coding and long-running agents, it is also defining a new frontier for security.

And finally > use cases spreading from coding to everything else.

Review Claude by Anthropic?

Reviewers mostly see Claude as a strong tool for coding, long-form reasoning, and writing that sounds natural instead of generic. They repeatedly praise its ability to keep context across long chats, understand large codebases and documents, explain clearly, and sometimes push back rather than bluff. Founders of products like UXPin, IFTTT, and Wordware also highlight its production-ready output and agent workflows. Common complaints are strict message limits, weak image features, occasional refusals or hallucinations, and some rough app or UX issues.

What's great

fast performance (23)AI assistant (100)fast development (3)natural language understanding (13)code generation (68)ethical AI (16)contextual understanding (51)reasoning capabilities (46)MCP integration (3)

Claude is one of my go-to AI tools for software development, architecture discussions, code reviews, and long-form reasoning. It excels at understanding large codebases, explaining complex concepts clearly, and producing thoughtful, well-structured responses. I especially value its ability to maintain context during longer technical conversations, making it a reliable partner for both development and problem-solving.

What needs improvement

message limits (22)

The biggest improvements I'd like to see are higher message limits, better conversation search, stronger project memory across sessions, and expanded image generation/editing capabilities. Deeper integrations with developer tools and more flexible collaboration features would also make it even more valuable for technical workflows.

vs Alternatives

ChatGPT by OpenAI

I regularly use ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, and other AI models. I chose Claude because of its strong reasoning abilities, excellent handling of long documents and code, and its clear, natural writing style. Each model has strengths, but Claude is often my first choice for architecture planning and complex technical tasks.

What's great

fast performance (23)code generation (68)data analysis (28)contextual understanding (51)creative writing (25)reasoning capabilities (46)

Claude Code genuinely changed the way I work. I started coding again after 15 years, and even though I originally began with Cursor, Claude Code became my main tool very quickly.

But the bigger thing is not just coding itself. A huge amount of operational and repetitive work can now be delegated step-by-step to Claude Code. It helps transform ideas into execution much faster and removes a lot of friction from daily workflows. For a technical founder, this is not just “AI coding” — it feels more like an intelligent operational layer for the company.

What needs improvement

The biggest missing piece for me is image generation and image workflow transparency.

I still use ChatGPT or Banana for many visual tasks because the image tooling around Claude is not yet strong enough. I’d especially love better debugging and visibility into what happened during image-related operations.

For example, it would be incredibly useful to have simple controls for things like transparency handling and clearer step-by-step feedback about why a task execution failed. That kind of observability would make the workflow much more reliable for professional use.

vs Alternatives

Codex 3.0 by OpenAI

In my opinion, Claude Code has the strongest “vibe” for modern technical founders working deeply with AI.

There are many strong alternatives — Cursor, Codex, and other AI-native tools — and some are very close technically. But Anthropic keeps shipping system-level improvements and thoughtful UX decisions that make Claude feel consistently ahead.

The product feels opinionated in the right way: less focused on flashy demos, more focused on real workflows, context handling, and long-term productivity. That combination makes it my preferred tool today.

What's great

fast performance (23)AI assistant (100)user-friendly interface (14)reliable (8)Git integration (4)code generation (68)data analysis (28)contextual understanding (51)

I've been using Claude for writing, brainstorming, and coding. It does a great job of understanding context, and the responses are clear and thoughtful. It's especially useful for long-form writing and refining ideas.

What needs improvement

The usage limits can interrupt longer sessions, and it would be great to have better conversation search and stronger image generation features.

vs Alternatives

I also use ChatGPT. I prefer Claude when I want more detailed writing or need help working through complex ideas.
