FilePilot AI is a local-first desktop file manager that scans, indexes, searches, deduplicates, summarizes, and organizes files on your local storage. It supports local AI models or cloud AI providers for summarization, keeping your files on your machine by default.
Simon Willison built a QR code generator with Claude, supporting URLs/text and WiFi networks with customizable styling.
Using the HealthContradict dataset, this study evaluates six open-weight LLMs under five evidence conditions, finding that conflicting evidence reduces accuracy and causes 11.4%–25.2% of predictions to flip. A conflict-aware abstention score improves selective accuracy by up to 33.4 points in the hardest conditions.
This replication study evaluates DExperts, an inference-time toxicity mitigation technique that requires no retraining. It achieved 100% safety on explicit toxicity benchmarks but dropped to 98.5% on implicit hate speech, with a ~10x latency penalty.
A novel offline reasoning distillation framework corrects teacher-student distributional drift by adaptively weighting teacher supervision to align with the student's on-policy distribution, achieving superior accuracy on math benchmarks without costly online rollouts.
This paper introduces Inquisitive Conversational Agents (ICAs) and develops one tailored to U.S. Supreme Court oral arguments using a Dual Hierarchical Reinforcement Learning framework. Two cooperating RL agents coordinate strategic dialogue management and utterance generation to emulate judicial questioning patterns, systematically uncovering crucial legal information. Evaluations show superior performance over baselines, marking an important step toward high-stakes domain-specific applications.
This paper proposes PEML, a parameter-efficient multi-task learning method that co-optimizes continuous prompts and low-rank model adaptation, achieving up to 6.67% average accuracy improvement on GLUE, SuperGLUE, MMLU, and commonsense reasoning benchmarks.
Researchers introduce Derivation Prompting, a logic-inspired prompting technique for the generation step of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). It constructs an interpretable derivation tree by systematically applying rules to initial hypotheses, reducing hallucinations and erroneous reasoning in knowledge-intensive tasks. A case study showed significant reduction in unacceptable answers compared to traditional RAG and long-context window methods.
This paper audits the multimodal-physics evaluation pipeline, uncovering three construction flaws: train-eval contamination, translation drift, and MCQ saturation. It releases four datasets and a reference model, Physics-R1, which achieves strong results across benchmarks.
Researchers propose Mistletoe, a stealthy attack that exploits the imperfect approximation between drafter and target models in speculative decoding. By jointly optimizing degradation and semantic-preservation objectives with a null-space projection, the attack substantially reduces the average accepted length and collapses speedup while maintaining output quality.
Researchers present VectraYX-Nano, a 42M-parameter decoder-only language model trained from scratch in Spanish for cybersecurity, featuring native tool invocation via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The model uses a 170M-token corpus and curriculum learning with replay buffer, achieving monotonic loss descent and a conversational gate of 0.78. It is the first Spanish-native cybersecurity LLM with end-to-end MCP integration, running sub-second on commodity hardware.
This paper systematically evaluates six vector merging methods for multilingual knowledge editing (MKE). Vector summation with shared covariance is the most reliable strategy, while simple summation performs poorly. TSVM offers limited improvement in reducing multilingual interference. Performance is sensitive to weight scaling and rank compression ratio, with larger scaling and lower rank often yielding better results.
Collider-Bench is a new benchmark for evaluating whether LLM agents can reproduce experimental analyses from the Large Hadron Collider using only public papers and open scientific software. Agents must build simulation-and-selection pipelines and predict collision event yields. Evaluation uses histogram metrics and an LLM judge to catch failures. Initial results show no agent reliably beats the physicist-in-the-loop solution.
This work interprets weighted InfoNCE objectives as distance geometry problems, providing a unified geometric framework for weighted contrastive learning. In supervised classification, SupCon and Soft SupCon collapse samples within each class to a single prototype, but class imbalance breaks SupCon's symmetry, while Soft SupCon retains regular simplex geometry. In continuous-label settings, y-Aware CL generally cannot achieve its entropic optimum unless labels lie on a hypersphere. Geometrically consistent choices like Euclidean-Euclidean weighting or X-CLR guarantee unique optimal embeddings.
EMA is the first model adaptation system for learning-based systems to adapt to evolving environments with minimal overhead. It introduces state transformers for cross-environment alignment and prioritizes labeling high-utility data. Evaluations on eight systems show 14.9%-42.4% reduction in adaptation costs and 6.9%-31.3% improvement in system performance.
EvolveMem is a self-evolving memory architecture that automatically optimizes retrieval configurations via an AutoResearch process, achieving significant performance gains across multiple benchmarks.
Diffusion language models are a promising alternative to autoregressive models, but current post-training methods that maximize rewards lead to a failure mode called trajectory locking, where probability mass concentrates on a narrow set of denoising paths, reducing coverage of alternative correct solutions. The proposed TraFL (Trajectory Flow baLancing) uses a trajectory-balance objective to train the policy toward a reward-tilted target distribution anchored to a frozen reference model, with a diffusion-compatible sequence-level surrogate and learned prompt-dependent normalization. TraFL is the only method that improves over the base model in all benchmark settings, with gains that persist as sampling budget increases, and transfers to held-out evaluations.
A novel unsupervised framework removes manual capacity tuning through architectural annealing, allowing a hybrid discrete-continuous latent model to adaptively separate acquisition-related effects from biological variation in dMRI structural connectomes. Evaluated on 7,416 connectomes (ages 2-102, 13 studies, 25 acquisition parameter combinations), architectural annealing achieves stronger site learning (ARI=0.53, p<0.05) than baseline models.
Researchers propose SCOPE-BENCH, a new benchmark for evaluating molecular property prediction under extreme out-of-distribution conditions, and POMA, a framework that uses reinforcement learning to select optimal source scaffolds for domain adaptation.
