Best JetBrains plugins?

To JetBrains users: what are your most recommended plugins? I'm currently playing around with @Kilo Code for JetBrains (launching this Sunday) and I'd like to make the most out of this experience.

Thanks! cc @zmirnofa

What percentage of real-world developer tasks do you believe can eventually be handled by specialized models like Mellum without needing a frontier model at all?

Review JetBrains?

Reviewers describe JetBrains as a strong choice for serious development, especially for Java, PHP, Python, JavaScript, and Unity work. They repeatedly praise deep code intelligence, fast navigation, refactoring, debugging, Git and version control integration, and a consistent workflow across IDEs. Several users say they switched from VS Code or Eclipse and stayed for speed, stability, and productivity, though a few still find the tools somewhat slow, invasive, or feature-heavy at first. Makers of Kilo Code and Zencoder also highlight its fit in professional workflows.

I recently started using IDE Rider to write code in Unity. I really liked this tool. It works very quickly, offers useful hints and solutions in the code, conveniently presents the project structure, has a convenient version control system and the most amazing thing is that the debugger works with Unity without freezing, as can be seen in other IDEs.

JetBrains is a great company in my opinion and has user-friendly, high-performance coding solutions. Thank you!

used JetBrains to build Kanai

•8 reviews

I exclusively used vim for two years and emacs for three. I had a >2k line emacs config. I love customization, but JetBrains won me over in 2020 because its smart completion was so good I didn't even need to learn new languages to use them. I could use new frameworks without shopping for plugins first. I have used VSCode remote development, but I always return to the JetBrains suite because it configures things I wouldn't have thought about.

I've growth to love JetBrains IDEs, I learned all the shortcuts and I've been paying for a PHP Storm license for several years now, even though I also use the free VSCode for my open source projects and YouTube content. But when I need stability, extensibility and robust workflows, JetBrains never let me down.
