IBM quantum computer solves classically intractable problem in 15 minutes

IBM and University of Chicago researchers have completed a quantum computation that leading classical methods could not practically reproduce. The system used 70 error-corrected logical qubits and finished the task in roughly 15 minutes while also providing statistical evidence that the result was reliable.

Big business has shown small firms what to do – and what not to do – with AI | Gene Marks

Small business owners have watched large companies fumble – and sometimes succeed – with AI, and then use what works One thing I’ve learned about corporate America is that what it succeeds at ultimately trickles down to benefit small businesses. Bleeding-edge technologies such as the internet, mobile transactions and the cloud were first perfected by large organizations – government and corporations – and now they’re available to the masses at a much lower cost and with better reliability. The good news is that it’s also the same for what they fail at. Continue reading...

Exclusive: Research says sector is fixated with young talent, with most women experiencing unconscious bias or sexism Women working in the arts believe they do not have equal opportunities for roles, especially as they get older, according to a report saying that the industry is fixated with “young and emerging” talent. Anthropic Opens a Research Preview of the Model Hardware Standard (MHS): A Shared Specification for AI Agents to Safely Operate Physical Devices

Anthropic has opened a research preview of the Model Hardware Standard (MHS), a shared driver specification that lets AI agents discover and safely operate physical devices. Instrument integration that normally takes weeks or months drops to hours: Carnegie Mellon went from raw equipment to a finished dose-response curve in eight, and QuEra's laser relock improved from 58% to 99.3% across 700 trials. MHS is model-agnostic, reachable over MCP, and enforces safety limits in the driver rather than the prompt. The post Anthropic Opens a Research Preview of the Model Hardware Standard (MHS): A Shared Specification for AI Agents to Safely Operate Physical Devices appeared first on MarkTechPost.
