It Was Never You — Re-write their wrongs The app Personal history is now editable. How it works Three steps to a rewritten timeline. Choose who leaves your past and who takes their place. No manual editing, no cloning tools, no suspiciously empty space where a person used to be. The resonant identity just… was always there. Mark the dissonant identity Choose a photo of the person you want gone and confirm their face — the dissonant identity, as we politely call them. Choose the resonant identity Pick the resonant identity — anyone you have a decent photo of (and their blessing to use it). Realign the record Select the photos to reCast™. They’re processed securely in the cloud, and the results land right back in your library. Reversible, always. Privacy & safety Your photos. Briefly ours. Then gone. We built the boring-but-important parts first. 👁️🗨️ Screened on your device Every photo is checked on your iPhone before upload. Sensitive content is excluded by default — you stay in control of what uploads — and everything is checked again during processing. Photos of minors are refused. ⏳ Deleted within 72 hours Uploads and results are wiped from our servers within 72 hours — automatically, every time. Nothing is kept, reused, or used to train anything. 🤫 No account. No identity. There’s nothing to sign up for. Your device gets an anonymous ID and that’s the whole story. We couldn’t identify you if we tried. Pricing Your first reCast™ is free. ✨ Start with 10 free credits. One credit per photo (two for HD). If a photo can’t be processed, the credit comes straight back. Credits never expire. Starter 10 credits $2.99 A tidy little cleanup. Most popular Timeline 50 credits $9.99 A whole relationship, handled. Clean Slate 150 credits $24.99 Scorched earth. New beginnings. FAQ Questions people ask. Does it change my actual photos? Yes — that’s the point. reCast edits the photos in your library directly, so your history looks rewritten everywhere. The originals are always preserved underneath: undo any photo in the app, or open it in Photos and tap “Revert to Original.” What happens to my photos on your servers? Photos are uploaded only to be processed, then automatically deleted within 72 hours. They’re never used for training, never shared, and never kept. See the privacy policy for the full picture. Can I use a photo of anyone as the resonant identity? Only use photos of yourself or people who’ve agreed. You’re responsible for the photos you rewrite. Also: photos where the dissonant identity appears to be a young child (under 13) are refused, and sensitive content is filtered on your device before it ever uploads. What if a photo fails to process? It happens — maybe the person isn’t clearly visible, or the shot is too chaotic. Failed photos are automatically refunded to your credit balance. How long does a reCast take? Small batches are quick; big timelines take a while (it’s real work). Keep the app open and plugged in for large jobs, and we’ll send you a notification the moment everything’s ready. Why does this exist? Because your timeline belongs to you. Photography froze the past; reCasting sets it free. We think personal history should be a living document — yours to curate, revise, and perfect. We’re just early. Who hurt the developer of this app? Any resemblance to actual heartbreaks, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
