Scaling enterprise AI depends on more than deploying intelligent agents. For Banco BS2, a Brasil-based digital bank, it begins with establishing the infrastructure, governance and operational discipline needed to support AI before expanding its use across the organization. Operating in Brasil’s highly regulated banking environment makes that foundation especially important. The country’s financial institutions must navigate complex regulatory and tax requirements while maintaining the security, availability and performance customers expect from digital banking services. Those demands have shaped Banco BS2’s approach to scaling AI, according to Danilo Zimmermann (pictured, left), chief information officer of Banco BS2. “Latency is non-negotiable; it’s mandatory for us,” he said. “Creating a critical infrastructure is very important … to be the foundation before you escalate AI.” Zimmermann and Diego Puerta (right), Brasil general manager at Dell Technologies Inc., spoke with John Furrier, executive analyst for theCUBE Research, during theCUBE + NYSE Wired: AI Factories – Data Centers of the Future interview series on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed Banco BS2’s AI roadmap, the operational priorities shaping its technology decisions and Dell’s role in supporting its strategy for scaling enterprise AI. Building the foundation for scaling enterprise AI For Banco BS2, AI is as much an operational shift as a technology initiative. IT teams must understand business priorities and customer needs rather than simply deploying new tools. This strategy requires organizations to rethink processes while introducing AI into selected business and IT functions, according to Zimmermann. That approach has guided the bank’s infrastructure strategy and its roadmap for broader AI adoption. “As a digital bank, we need to be near the strategy,” he said. “Not only [to] develop … but understand the business and understand the customer to develop products that bring value [and] good experiences. Especially now, in an AI moment, when you need to build a new way to work, to modify the process, not only adopt agents in a specific process.” That business-first philosophy also shapes Banco BS2’s relationship with Dell. Rather than beginning with technology, the companies work together to identify business priorities before determining the infrastructure needed to support them, according to Puerta. “It’s the same format we are doing with the most strategic and tech-demanding customers in Brasil,” Puerta said. “Understanding the business, working together, helping them navigate … IT complexity. That is where we spend most of the time discussing what is critical: ‘What do you guys want to change?’ Especially now, with AI, it’s ‘What do you want to transform?’ The discussion has not been different with BS2.” That collaborative relationship has helped Banco BS2 align infrastructure investments with broader business objectives, according to Zimmermann. The partnership has also extended to automation initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency. “Dell is our long-term partner,” he said. “Recently, we … said, ‘Help us to become a better company, a better and [more] intelligent company.’ I would say that they have always been a strategic partner, not only a tech partner. What we expect is that this kind of partner understands our business context, not only to offer technology, but to help us connect infrastructure with business outcomes.” Here’s the complete video interview, part of SiliconANGLE’s and theCUBE’s coverage of theCUBE + NYSE Wired: AI Factories – Data Centers of the Future interview series: Photo: SiliconANGLE A message from John Furrier, co-founder of SiliconANGLE: Support our mission to keep content open and free by engaging with theCUBE community.
